What this grant is for:

Elevate's 2024 Foundations for the Future Grant aims to support non-profit and not-for-profit organizations that directly impact the quality of life for seniors in our local communities in a positive way. Funds can be used to support programs, services, and resources for seniors ages 55 and over. Small-scale capital facility improvements or offerings, less than $100,000, are also eligible. Successful applications should focus on the areas of arts, science, other areas of education, health/wellness, or meeting basic needs. Additional priority points will be given for the use of technology to create lasting benefit for seniors. Long-term positive impact and demonstrable success is required.

What this grant is not for:

  • Event sponsorships
  • Large-scale capital facility campaigns
  • Political or religiously affiliated organizations
  • For profit & private businesses
  • Start-up organizations
  • Organizational operational costs
  • Travel costs
  • Education scholarships

Eligible applicants must:

  • Have a physical office within the footprint of Delta-Montrose Electric Association (city of Delta also included)
  • Be a non-profit or not-for-profit organization
  • Have a proven track record of improving the lives of local seniors
  • Prove long-term impact by identifying how the organization/program sets up seniors for future success
  • Be able to quantify their impact on the quality of life for local seniors
  • Not have been funded by DMEA/Elevate for more than $5000 (cumulative) in the past 2 years
  • Not have been a 2023 Foundations Grant recipient

To Elevate, improving the quality of life means:

  • Providing enhanced social, health/wellness, & mental/emotional well-being opportunities to seniors (age 55+) they may not get otherwise
  • Providing access to services and resources that create joy, fulfillment, and opportunities for seniors
  • Identifying needs for local seniors within the community and successfully meeting those needs
  • Offering programs and services that can improve the trajectory of a senior’s life in a good way
  • Broadening a senior’s worldview through access and experiences
  • Making an immediate impact on the lives our senior citizens
