
Jack Johnston is the Chief Executive Officer at DMEA and is the President of its broadband subsidiary, Elevate. With a focus on reliability, services to members and customers, and long-term stewardship of critical infrastructure, Jack is responsible for ensuring the cooperative operates safely, responsibly, and in the best interest of the communities it serves toward a sustainable future.
Prior to his tenure at DMEA/Elevate, Jack served as the CEO of Southeast Colorado Power Association and its broadband subsidiary, SECOM. Immediately preceding those roles, he served on the other side of the boardroom as a Director at San Isabel Electric, still maintaining a Director Gold level certification from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas, El Paso, and a master’s the London School of Economics.
Within the community, he currently serves on the Board of Directors for Montrose Regional Health as Board Chair. He also recently completed his term on the board of the Montrose Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). Jack also represents DMEA on the Board of the Western United Electric Supply Corporation and the National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC) Board. He has prior general manager experience working with the Pueblo West Metropolitan District/Utility Enterprises, the Historic Arkansas River Authority & Foundation, and AT&T.
